Flame worked borosilicate sterling silver and 24K fumed marble. This handmade, one of a kind marble has been fumed with Sterling Silver and 24k gold on the inside and the back side fumed with Sterling Silver and 24k gold as well. The pattern on the inside is achieved in part by applying thin layers of both the gold and the silver to the inside of a pice of clear glass tubing. More clear glass is applied on top of the fuming to trap a layer of the fumed metals between the layers of glass, which helps to establish a pattern as well as preserve the coloration of the glass. The tubing is then melted closed, and further melted down to become a solid mass of glass. It is 1.7" in diameter (43.1mm) and signed "J.Cavagnaro '19". This marble will arrive safely packed from my Dagsboro, DE studio.
